Guy at REI told me to get a Therm-a-Rest Z Lite instead of an air pad. Hated it at first but he was 100% right.
Back in March I was shopping for a sleeping pad in Denver for a 4 day trip to Moab. Employee there maybe 60 years old, told me to save my money and get the foam pad. I thought he was crazy. First night my hips hurt so bad I barely slept. But by day 3 I got used to it and realized I never had to worry about leaks or pump sacks. Also way lighter. Has anyone else had an old school recommendation that actually worked out better than the new stuff?
