Found out pine needles make amazing campfire kindling after my store-bought stuff got soaked in a sudden downpour last weekend

I was desperate with wet matches and a soggy firestarter, grabbed a handful of dry needles from under a tree, and that fire was roaring in under two minutes has anyone else had random forest floor junk save their trip

Ngl, I think you're being a little harsh. Yeah maybe it wasn't life-or-death, but when you're cold and wet and just want a warm fire, anything that works feels huge. Honestly, finding dry pine needles under a tree when everything else is soaked is a legit win. It's not about the danger level, it's about that moment of relief when you're not shivering anymore.
