Appreciation post: My tent held up in a surprise storm near Lake Placid
Last weekend I was camping up by Lake Placid and a thunderstorm rolled in out of nowhere around 2 AM. My old Coleman tent started leaking at the seams pretty bad and water was pooling under my sleeping pad. I grabbed my roll of gorilla tape and patched the spots from the inside, and it actually held for the rest of the night. Has anyone else had to MacGyver a fix in the middle of the night?

The tape didn't come off clean for me, but honestly, I was just happy it held. I did a similar patch job once and ended up scraping sticky bits off the tent for weeks, but it beat sleeping in a puddle.
