Just crossed 5000 shutter repairs and it hit me how many cameras I've basically saved from the dumpster

I was counting up my log books from the last 15 years and realized I've fixed more Pentax K1000s alone than most people have owned cameras in their lifetime, anyone else ever do the math on their own numbers and get a little shook?

Not really, to be honest. The whole camera saved thing feels like counting how many times you checked your closet before bed. You just do it, you don't keep a tally. Numbers like that don't hit the same when you're staring at a blinking red light at 2 AM. It's more about the habit and peace of mind than the count. Plus, that number doesn't stop a break-in from happening, it just tells you how many times you watched it fail.
