We sold out of our house-made almond milk for the first time
Yesterday, we went through our full 5-gallon batch by 2 PM. I make it fresh every morning, and we usually have a quarter of it left at closing. A regular came in and asked for three lattes to go, which used up the last of it. It's a small thing, but it felt good to see people actually choosing it. Anyone else have a simple, made-in-house item that took off unexpectedly?

Love that feeling. We started doing our own pickled red onions and now we can't keep the jars on the shelf.

I used to think they were just a garnish, but now I get why you make so many.

That part about people actually choosing it is key. I see it at my local butcher, where they started making their own bratwurst. It's not cheaper, but the line for it is out the door on Saturdays. People are just tired of the factory-made stuff, even for small things.
