Warning: our espresso machine water line froze and it took 5 days to fix...

The cold snap last week froze the line feeding our main machine. I thought it was just a clogged filter at first... spent a whole day on that. The plumber said the pipe in the wall had a tiny split from the ice. The whole fix, with drying time and a new machine check, took until Friday. Has anyone else had a hidden pipe issue that shut them down for a week?

Our old building had a frozen condensate drain line for the HVAC that took out the whole system for three days. The real kicker was the mold that started growing in the ceiling tiles after it thawed. That cleanup added another week. I get what @kim963 means about the turnaround, but the hidden damage after the fact is what really kills you.

Man, that mold part is the worst. Once moisture gets trapped behind drywall or above ceiling tiles it just keeps spreading and you don't even know how bad it is until you start tearing stuff out. Did your insurance cover the full cleanup or were you stuck fighting with them over the hidden damage?

Sounds like a pretty quick turnaround, honestly.
