Shoutout to the small detail in my iced coffee sales that caught me off guard
I was looking over my numbers last week and found out that over 40% of my iced coffee orders are for a size I barely promote. It's the 16 ounce instead of my usual 12 or 20 ounce sizes. I got this from the Square dashboard I use for sales tracking, and it really surprised me because I always push the medium as my go to. Now I'm wondering if I should adjust my menu board (maybe switch up the font or placement) to match what people actually buy. Has anyone else noticed a weird pattern like this with their drink sizes or a specific menu item?

Come on, that's a pretty cynical take on your customers. People usually grab what they actually want, not just what's closest, especially if it costs more than the medium you're pushing. If 40% are going for the 16 ounce, that's a clear signal you should lean into it, not dismiss it as laziness.

Are you sure this isn't just people grabbing the closest cup to them without actually reading the menu? Seems like a lazy customer habit rather than a real preference for that size.
