Fought with my POS system for 6 hours before giving up

I run a small cafe in Baton Rouge and tried to update our menu prices in the system last night, but it kept freezing every time I hit save on the iced coffee category. Turns out the software update from two months ago had a glitch that corrupted the pricing database, and I had to call support and wait 45 minutes on hold just to get a workaround. Has anyone else dealt with a POS update that messed up their whole menu setup?

Seriously? 6 hours on a POS update sounds like you might be overcomplicating it. I get it's annoying but fighting with a machine that long is kinda pointless. Just reboot, call support, move on. Half the time people get stuck cause they keep clicking the same button expecting different results. A glitchy update sucks but it's not like the whole system is broken forever. Maybe take a breather and try again tomorrow instead of burning 6 hours on it.

Honestly, I gotta push back a little here - 45 minutes on hold sounds pretty standard for POS support these days, and a glitchy update is annoying but not exactly shocking. Tbh, blaming the whole system for one bad update seems harsh when it probably worked fine before.

Real talk, the trick is to call during weird hours, like right when they open or late afternoon. I've had the same issue, and after getting stuck on hold forever, I started calling around 7:45 AM local time, and I usually get someone in under 15 minutes. Also, ask for a ticket number right away, so if the glitch messes something up again, you can just reference that and skip the hold time next call. And yeah, a bad update can be a headache, but backing up your system before any install saves a ton of grief. Had one update once that wiped out some pricing data, but because I had a backup from the night before, it was a quick fix.
