Finally switched to a manual espresso grinder after a chat with an old pro
Ran into this guy named Tony at the city roasters meetup last Thursday, he told me my $300 electric grinder was making my shots taste flat because of static heat build up... he showed me his hand grinder and let me taste the difference right there, night and day honestly. Now I'm thinking about selling my electric one, has anyone else made the switch and regretted the arm workout?

Yeah you get used to the arm workout pretty quick and the flavor difference is totally worth it.

Right, "arm workout" is right. I've been thinking about that exact thing since I got my own manual grinder last month. My biceps are actually getting more action than my relationship status, which is honestly a win-loss situation I'll take. @adam_thompson53 is spot on about the flavor difference though - my morning shots went from "meh" to "oh wait, that's what coffee is supposed to taste like." But man, some mornings I'm grinding for like 45 seconds and my other arm is just sitting there feeling left out. Still worth it for the taste, but my therapist might start charging extra if I keep complaining about my workout routine.

45 seconds of grinding every morning sounds like a lot - are you doing single or double shots with that thing, @rose_cooper? I swear my grinder takes like two minutes for a double and I'm starting to think I'm doing it wrong.
