Warning: Cheap coax strippers will ruin your day

Had a new guy on my crew swear by the $8 strippers from Home Depot, so I tried one to prove him wrong. Snapped the blade on the third termination and sliced my thumb open on a house in Austin. Any of you guys found a solid mid-range brand that doesn't cost an arm?

The Klein coax strippers ran me about $25 and they've held up through two years of residential work. Had the same problem with those cheap plastic ones bending after a few uses. The Kleins have replaceable blades which is nice when you hit a tough fitting. Only issue is they feel a bit heavy in the pouch but that's a trade off I'll take. Never had one slip on me.

I noticed you mentioned the weight, and that's actually a big reason I switched to the Klein coax strippers too. I'm on ladders all day and a heavy pouch wears you out, but I found something that balances it. If you take a piece of paracord and loop it through the hole on the handle, you can clip it to your belt loop or a carabiner. That way the weight is off your pouch and distributed to your hip instead of your waist. It sounds simple but it saves your back over a long week. Has anyone else tried mounting them differently or do most people just toss them in the pouch?
