Used to run coax with zip ties on EVERYTHING

Back when I started in 2018 I would zip tie every single cable to anything that would hold still. It looked clean but man did it make future service calls a nightmare. Now after a bad day at a condo complex in Arlington I switched to velcro straps for anything behind walls or in accessible spots. The difference in speed alone is crazy maybe 40% faster on a typical job. Plus the next guy doesn't have to cut his knuckles up on old zip ties. Anyone else make the switch or still team zip tie?

Bet you never thought about how zip ties trap moisture against the cables in humid crawl spaces.

You're talking about zip ties and moisture trapping, but have you actually seen corrosion right at the zip tie point? I've pulled cables out of crawl spaces where the tie was tight enough to dent the jacket, and that dent held water like a little cup. So is the bigger problem the plastic tie itself, or just how tight people crank them down?
