Spent $80 on a Klein fish tape with that swivel head and it snapped on my third pull
Was pulling through a 2 inch conduit under a parking lot in Phoenix and the swivel let go mid-pull, has anyone had better luck with the steel tape reels or did I just get a lemon?

Used to swear by those swivel heads but this has me rethinking.

Gotta agree with @grant_foster79 on this one, I used to think the swivel heads were the best thing since sliced bread but after seeing a few posts like yours and a couple coworkers having the same issue, I'm starting to wonder if the heat plays a part. Pulling through conduit in Phoenix is no joke, that asphalt heat gets into everything and maybe the plastic or whatever they use in those swivel heads just can't take it. The steel tape reels have been solid for me on big jobs but they're heavier and can kink if you're not careful, your mileage may vary depending on how tight your pulls are. I'd say you probably didn't get a lemon, just that the swivel design has its limits in extreme conditions.
