Old-school fish tape vs modern glow rods, fish tape still wins
I pulled a 60 foot run through an attic in Phoenix last Tuesday and my glow rods kept snagging on the insulation. Swapped to my grandfather's steel fish tape and it slid through the same path in about 8 minutes flat. Has anyone else found that the old methods beat the new tools when you're dealing with tight spaces?

Man, that's wild... I was just reading an electrician forum the other day where a guy was saying the exact same thing about fishing through blown-in insulation. Said the glow rods just bind up on the batts while the old tape kinda pushes through without grabbing. Makes sense to me, those rods flex too much and the joints catch on everything. Not knocking the new stuff for short runs or conduit work, but for a long attic pull? Give me the steel every time.
