Found a faster way to fish lines through finished walls
Was on a job last week in a house built in the 80s with solid blocking between every stud. My usual magnet and glow rod setup was taking forever. I remembered an old guy I worked with once showed me using a shop vac and a piece of string with a plastic bag tied to it. Figured I'd try it. Sucked the bag and string right through a 30 foot run in about 2 minutes flat. Worked way better than I expected on the first try through the attic space. Has anyone else used this method on tricky walls where fire blocks keep stopping you?

Used the shop vac trick on a 50s house with plaster and lath last year, worked like a charm through a messy crawl space. Tied a wadded up plastic grocery bag to some mason line and it pulled clean through a 25 foot run where my fish tape kept snagging. Definitely a game changer for those old houses with all that hidden blocking.

Just a heads up, this trick works great until you hit a junction box with live wires inside. Had a buddy suck a string right into one and it melted the bag before he even knew what happened. Not saying don't do it, just check your path first.
