Dropped $240 on a signal meter app that my free one already did better
Bought a fancy phone based meter for $240 after a guy on a job in Tucson swore it cut his callbacks in half. Used it for three weeks and the thing kept crashing when I tried to lock onto a QAM channel. Meanwhile the free app I'd been running for two years did the same reads without freezing up. Sold the paid one on eBay for $90, so I ate about $150 plus shipping. The real kicker is the free app shows MER in a bigger font, which matters when you're on a ladder in the sun. Has anyone found a meter app that actually holds up on an Android, or am I stuck with the free one forever?
