Why I stopped using Blum soft-close hinges after 10 years
Last month a customer in Portland showed me how his 1980s kitchen cabinets still close smooth as butter with non-soft-close hinges. He said the soft-close mechanism just adds a part that can break over time. Has anyone else gone back to basic hinges on a build?

I switched back to regular hinges on a bathroom vanity I built back in 2019. Three years later they still work fine and I didn't have to worry about any dampers going bad.

Different strokes, but I'd rather have soft close every time.
