Unpopular opinion: Those cheap plastic drawer slides worked better than I expected
Picked up a box of 20 pairs from a salvage place in Portland for 12 bucks. Figured they'd bind up after a week but I put them in a set of bathroom cabinets anyway. Six months later they still slide smooth with no sag. Has anyone else had luck with the budget hardware or did I just get a fluke batch?

Well, six months isn't exactly a lifetime test for drawer slides.

Yeah but six months still tells you a lot if you use them every single day. I saw a video from that woodworking channel where they tested drawer slides for like 10,000 open/close cycles and the cheap ones failed way before that. Six months in a kitchen or workshop drawer gets you hundreds of cycles easily. If they start getting loose or squeaking that quick, that's a pretty big red flag for me.
