Tried edge banding with a heat gun instead of my iron, and half my doors came out looking rippled
I ran out of patience waiting on my old iron last Tuesday so I grabbed the heat gun and figured it would be faster on a set of 12 maple doors. What I got was glue that set way too hot in some spots and never melted at all in others, and 5 of them had that wavy look along the edge. I think the problem is I have no way to keep steady pressure with a gun, since the iron lets me push down as I go. Anyone here use a gun on purpose, or am I just supposed to buy a proper edgebander and stop being cheap about it?
