Took me 4 hours to figure out why my drawer slides kept binding up

I was building a set of kitchen drawers last week with soft-close undermount slides. I measured everything perfect, squared the boxes, but they still stuck halfway in. After pulling my hair out for 4 hours I realized I had the slide clips installed backwards on all 8 drawers. Has anyone else spent a whole afternoon on a mistake that simple?

Noticed that once you start looking at things backwards, your brain just stops seeing the simple fixes.

Blame the packaging for that one. Some brands put the clips on the rail with the release tab facing the wrong direction so you think that's how they go. I've got a box of Kreg jig screws that I'll never use because I grabbed the wrong size and just forced them in for an hour before checking.
