Thought pocket screws were cheating on face frames until a guy in my shop showed me his 12 year old kitchen
Last month a guy at my shop in Boise pulled out pictures of a face frame kitchen he built in 2013 with nothing but pocket screws and glue, and it has zero racking after 12 years of daily use. I had been cutting half laps for everything because my old boss said pocket screws were lazy, but seeing those joints still tight made me switch over on the last 3 cabinets I built. Has anyone else had a joint method they swore off and then came around on?
