That old timer in Dayton told me to trust the stretcher, not the bracket
He said skip the metal brackets and shim the face frame with offcuts, and after 14 years of those brackets working loose on heavy pantry doors, his method has held solid through three Ohio summers of humidity swings, so has anyone else ditched brackets for good after a stubborn customer complaint?
