Spent $400 on a premium HPL sheet yesterday, wish I had just stuck with the old phenolic backsplash

Thought I was upgrading for durability on a restaurant job, but the HPL chipped at the router line on the very first cut. Anyone else had bad luck with that stuff or did I just get a bad batch?

Oh man, is it really that big of a deal? One chipped edge on a first cut sounds annoying but not catastrophic. You probably just got a bad sheet or a dull router bit.

Did you use a brand new bit or try to run two sheets with the same one?
