Reached 100 completed drawer boxes this morning and had to stop and think about it
Been building custom kitchen cabinets out of my garage for about three years now, mostly on the side. This morning I finished my 100th drawer box and it just hit me how many hours that represents. How do you all track your milestones in this trade, if at all?

Started tracking hours per job about a year in. Wrote it on the back of the drawer box with a sharpie, just date and time spent. Real eye opener when you see 40 hours go into a single cabinet set. Helped me price better too cause I was definitely undercharging before. Hundred drawer boxes is no joke man that's a real milestone. I say write it down somewhere, you'll look back later and it'll mean something.

Gotta agree with @ross.kevin that writing it down somewhere weird actually works. I used to keep a scrap of paper in my tool belt with dates and hours per drawer. Saw that some batches took me almost double the time of others just because of a different wood species or finish. That sharpie trick is smart cause it's right there in your face every time you grab that drawer box. Numbers don't lie and it changes how you bid the next job for sure.

Man I don't know, it's just drawer boxes right? @ross.kevin you're treating it like you climbed Everest or something.
