Overheard a young guy at the lumber yard say he's never used a hand plane

I mean, it's not that I'm old school or anything, but hearing that made me realize how much has changed since I started in the 90s. You guys still keep a block plane in your apron for quick adjustments, or is everyone just using sanders and routers now?

Bought a rusty one at a flea market last spring and it's become my favorite tool.

...and you actually found one at a flea market that was still usable? I've seen some real junk at those places, guys selling planes with the blade ground down to nothing or a cracked sole. I remember my old boss would spend half a day tuning a flea market find, and half the time the bed was so warped it was never going to take a proper shaving. Glad yours worked out though, nothing beats the feel of a sharp plane taking off a wisp of wood.
