My father in law showed me a better way to square up drawer boxes

He saw me struggling with a clamp setup I've used for 20 years. Told me to try a simple plywood jig with two screws instead. It took me half the time on my next set of kitchen drawers. Anybody else have a trick that made you feel silly for not thinking of it sooner?

Have you actually tried that plywood jig setup though... I was skeptical at first but the problem I kept having with speed squares is they'd shift on me when I was lining things up. The two screw jig locks everything in place so you're not chasing square while you're trying to clamp.

Man, that's one of those things where you smack your forehead after seeing it. I've been there too with drawer stuff, but my game changer was using a speed square as a quick guide for making sure my drawer sides were dead square before I even touched a clamp. Saves me so much fussing around.

Miles, I gotta say speed squares are overrated for drawers. I have a square cut jig that works way better.
