My domino cutter snapped a tenon on a $400 walnut slab last Thursday
Was finishing up a custom kitchen island for a client in Portland and one of the Dominos just blew apart inside the mortise, ruining the whole joint. Anyone else had those Festool cutters fail on them out of nowhere, or am I just cursed?

You called it a "domino cutter" but they're actually called Domino tenon joiners - the cutter is the bit inside.

Man that's brutal, same thing happened to me on a cherry table last fall.

Fiona how long did the cherry sit before you noticed the warping? @black.pat I wonder if the domino joint actually made it worse by locking in the moisture stress before the wood fully acclimated. My cherry table cupped about 1/8 inch after a damp summer and that was just with plain dowels.
