I had 12 closet boxes to build for a job in Ferndale and it came down to buying pre finished maple ply or laying up my own veneer on plain MDF, and I went with the pre finished stuff. It cost me about $600 more in material but I got the whole run done in a weekend instead of dragging it out for weeks, plus zero glue lines to sand. Anyone else here just eat the material cost when a deadline is breathing down your neck, or do you still do your own veneer work no matter what?
