Warning: I bought a $19 collapsible colander and it beat the $45 one my mother-in-law swears by
My mother-in-law gave us a $45 stainless colander for our wedding in Dallas. Heavy thing. Fancy. The handle snapped off after two pasta nights. So I grabbed a $19 collapsible silicone one at Target out of spite. Now I'm mad about it. The cheap one drains pasta just as fast, squishes flat in the drawer, and survives the dishwasher. The $45 one sat in a cabinet taking up half a shelf for nothing. My wife still defends the broken one because her mom picked it. I've used the $19 one probably 40 times since March with zero issues. So, buy it or skip it? And has anyone else had a cheap thing outlast the expensive gift version?
