Vent: Paid $200 for a fancy water filter and my tap water tastes the same

I bought this whole house filter system from a big brand six months ago after reading all those rave reviews online. The install took me a whole afternoon in my kitchen sink in Denver and I was so excited to finally have good water. But honestly I can't tell any difference between filtered and unfiltered and my husband agrees. I even did a blind taste test with three glasses and picked wrong both times. The water still has that faint chlorine smell and leaves spots on the dishes too. I feel like I got sold on hype and marketing instead of actual results. Has anyone else had luck with a different type of filter that actually works?

Did you check if you installed it backwards? I've seen that happen and it basically does nothing.

Check if you actually installed the filter cartridge right. I put mine in backwards once and it did absolutely nothing for weeks. Denver tap water has chlorine added on purpose so you need a carbon block filter rated for chlorine removal not just a basic sediment one. Those fancy whole house systems sometimes use cheaper media than what's advertised.
