The old pizza place near me turned into a vegan spot and honestly it kind of works

There was this hole in the wall pizza joint on 5th and Main that I went to since like 2010. Last summer they shut down and I was bummed for months. Then this new place opened up in the same building and I figured I'd hate it since I'm not into tofu or whatever. Ended up trying their jackfruit tacos last week and they were actually fire. Has anyone else had a spot change completely and still come out good?

Try the pulled jackfruit from Trader Joe's if you want to skip the whole cooking process. I got caught off guard the first time I tried making these myself, jackfruit soaks up a ton of moisture so you gotta really press the liquid out before you season anything. Otherwise you end up with soggy tacos and nobody wants that mess. And toast your tortillas on a dry pan first, makes a huge difference in keeping everything together. Been making these for years now and still mess up the texture sometimes honestly. But when you get it right they're genuinely good not just a joke.

@bennett.noah I dunno, the TJ's one is way too sweet for me, prefer making it from scratch.
