That $30 laser level from Harbor Freight actually holds up

I was framing out a closet in my basement last month and didn't want to drop $150 on a proper Bosch. Picked up the cheap one on a whim. It's been dropped twice off a ladder and the calibration is still dead on. The bracket is a little flimsy but the level itself works fine for most home jobs. Anyone else had good luck with the cheap stuff or did I just get lucky?

Mine drifted out of level after three trips to the jobsite.

Start slapping a cheap bubble level on it before each trip. That way you catch it early and adjust before it gets wonky. A little piece of shim stock in the toolbox is all you need for quick fixes on site. Nothing worse than fighting a machine that's fighting itself from the jump. What do you usually do when you notice it start drifting?
