My Ninja Creami was hardly worth the hype I gave it

I got the Ninja Creami last month after seeing dozens of rave reviews online. First batch of vanilla came out gritty and icy, not creamy like everyone said. I tried three more times with different recipes and still couldn't get a smooth result. Felt like I spent $200 on a machine that just makes frozen slush. Has anyone else had trouble getting this thing to work right?

I mean @julia_miller24 its just an ice cream maker not a life changing decision lol
