Figuring out how to declutter without losing my mind

I've been trying to clear out my spare room for like 6 months and nothing stuck. I'd spend a whole Saturday sorting stuff into piles and by Sunday the room looked exactly the same. Then I saw someone mention the "one box" method where you grab one cardboard box and fill it with stuff to donate in under 30 minutes. No sorting through everything, no deciding what stays, just grab and toss. I tried it last Tuesday and got a full box out of just my closet shelf. Now I set a timer every other day and do one box, takes maybe 20 minutes. Has anyone else found a simple system that actually works for getting rid of stuff you don't need?

The one box method sounds like it was invented by someone who also hates folding fitted sheets and I am 100% here for it. I tried the "keep it if it sparks joy" approach and ended up just crying in a pile of old concert t-shirts. Now I just grab a trash bag when the mail piles up too high and start throwing random stuff in there without looking. My record is filling a whole bag while the pizza delivery guy was still in the driveway. The key is not to let your brain catch up with your hands, otherwise it'll talk you into keeping that weird shaped Tupperware lid you've never used.

My friend tried the "grab without looking" method @wyatt_green31 mentioned and accidentally donated her favorite sweater still in the donation bag... she found it at Goodwill two weeks later for $3.
