Dropped $60 on a fancy water filter pitcher and the flow is slower than my morning coffee

Last week I bought one of those big Brita pitchers with the long-lasting filter at Target, figured it would save me from buying plastic bottles. Hooked it up on Monday, and by Wednesday the water was trickling out like a broken faucet, took me 20 seconds to fill a glass. I timed it, no joke. Anyone else run into this with these filters or am I just unlucky with this batch?

Yeah I had the same problem with mine. That first week is brutal, it felt like I was waiting for a slow IV drip just to get a glass of water. I think the filter gets clogged with sediment or something but after a few weeks it speeds up a bit. Still kinda annoying though, not gonna lie.

It's the opposite, actually-new filters are too tight and need to break in.

Patience of a saint over here, right? I timed mine at 45 seconds for a full glass once and almost threw the whole thing in the garbage. Ended up leaving it running overnight into a pitcher and woke up to a slow flooded counter, so that plan backfired too. New filters are like tight jeans after Thanksgiving dinner, they loosen up eventually but the first few days are a test of your willpower. Just keep running water through it while you watch TV or something, it'll speed up around day five.
