Bought a $30 neck massager off Amazon, figured it would be junk
Saw one of those shiatsu pillow massagers with the rotating nodes on sale for $29.99 and grabbed it on a whim. Figured I'd use it twice and it'd collect dust like my ab roller. Three months later I'm using it almost daily after sitting at my desk for 8 hours. Has anyone else had cheap gadgets that actually stuck around?

My friend Dave bought one and joked it was a 'torture device' until his wife caught him napping with it on high.

That high setting is no joke for the first few minutes, but once you power through it your muscles just give up and relax. I've fallen asleep with mine on so many times I had to start plugging it into a timer outlet.

Gotta gently push back on calling it a "shiatsu pillow massager" like it's some fancy thing. Shiatsu is a specific Japanese finger pressure technique, those rotating plastic nodes are just a cheap knockoff version of it at best. I looked into it after seeing the marketing hype, turns out real shiatsu involves actual thumbs and elbows, not spinning bumps. Still love the thing though, been using mine for a solid year and it's honestly held up way better than I expected for thirty bucks.
