Watch out for that new supplier in the south end

Last week, my buddy at Smith's Meats in Springfield got a whole case of pork shoulders that were borderline green around the bone. The delivery was from a new company called Prime Direct that's been advertising low prices. He had to send the whole 80-pound case back and lost a full day's prep. Has anyone else had issues with them, or know a good backup for pork?

That "borderline green" part got my attention too. You don't mess with that. I've been in the food business long enough to know when meat's turning, and green around the bone means it sat too warm for too long. Prime Direct is probably rushing product through without proper temp control. For a backup, County Line Packers is solid. I'd also check with Riverbend Foods, they do good pork and they're not too far from Springfield. They charge a little more but you won't lose a day's prep on spoiled meat.

Man, that "borderline green around the bone" detail is just nasty. Losing a whole day of prep on top of the bad product is a brutal hit. I've heard a couple other whispers about Prime Direct cutting corners to hit those low prices. For a solid backup, try calling over to County Line Packers, they've been reliable for us even if it costs a bit more.

Yeah, that green bone detail is a new level of gross. My dumb self would probably still try to cook it, just to REALLY learn the lesson the hard way.
