Walked into a health inspector visit at my shop last Thursday with a half-finished lamb breakdown on the counter
They saw how I was leaving the meat sit for 15 minutes before wrapping and actually complimented the temp control, has anyone else gotten a surprise visit that turned out okay?

Did they actually follow up with any written report after that visit or was it all just verbal feedback in the moment? A surprise visit that ends with a compliment on temp control feels rare, but I wonder if the paperwork still finds something else to ding you on. Was there any specific piece of their advice you changed in your routine after they left?

Bet on it - they always follow up with a written report, sometimes weeks later, and it usually finds something minor to nitpick even after a good visit. The temp control compliment was nice but the paperwork still pointed out a cracked floor tile and some expired first aid supplies in the back office. Changed out my old mercury thermometers for digital ones after their suggestion (way faster readings, honestly) and started logging temps twice a shift instead of once.
