That Saturday when I lost 200 bucks of pork shoulder to a broken bandsaw blade

Blade snapped at 6 AM on a busy Saturday, right through the middle of a 40-pound shoulder I was breaking down for a catering order. Took me 45 minutes to swap the blade and clean the bone fragments out of the meat, and I had to tell the chef I'd be two hours late. Anyone else had a tool failure wreck their whole day's numbers?

Used to think blades were blades and you just deal with it when they go. But after reading this, I'm actually gonna start keeping a backup band saw blade in my kit now. That cleanup sounds like a nightmare, you have my sympathy.

Bought a second blade for my saw after a similar mess with stuff getting all stuck and gummed up. Never again without a backup sitting right there in the bag. Totally worth the few bucks to skip that kind of cleanup.
