Shoutout to the guy who bet me $20 I couldn't break down a whole pig with only a 6 inch boning knife
So Gary from the Saturday market swears up and down you need a saw for the spine, and I told him give me one hour and a $20 bill. Long story short, I got it done in 47 minutes but my right forearm cramped up so bad I dropped a pork shoulder on the floor in front of three customers. The knife held up fine, it was my grip that gave out because I was squeezing like an idiot instead of letting the blade do the work. Gary paid up but now he tells everyone I "butchered the butchering," which honestly is fair. Any of you ever win a dumb bet and still feel like you lost?
Laughed way too hard at "butchered the butchering" because I did almost the same thing with a case of beer on the line. Bet my buddy I could field dress a deer with a folding pocket knife and no saw, and I actually pulled it off, but then I stood up too fast, got dizzy, and knocked the whole thing off the tailgate into the dirt. He still brings it up every single hunting season like it was the funniest thing he ever saw. Winning the bet was somehow the worst part because you can't even be mad about losing money, you just have to eat the shame. Good on you for getting it done in 47 minutes though, that spine work with a 6 inch blade is no joke.
