Regular customer asked me to teach his daughter knife skills
Had a guy come in every Friday for 6 months, always got the same chuck roast. Last week he brought his 14 year old daughter and asked if I could show her how to properly handle a boning knife. Spent 20 minutes with her on the display counter, and she actually nailed the basic grip and safety rules. Has anyone else had kids come in wanting to learn the trade from the retail side?
Ha, meanwhile I spent my whole first year just trying not to cut myself and this kid picks it up in 20 minutes. That's pretty cool that the dad trusted you with teaching her the right way from the start, since bad habits with a knife are a pain to unlearn later. Sounds like she's got a good head on her shoulders if she actually listened and got the grip down that fast.
