Hit 47 years behind the block this spring...

I was just counting up my apprenticeship start date the other day and realized I've been breaking down primals since 1977. Never thought I'd see the day I'd hit that many years, especially coming up in the old school shops where we did everything by hand with no bandsaw in sight.

47 years is a long time but respect isn't automatic...

You said "respect isn't automatic," and that's the truth. I've found that being visible and polite even when others aren't goes a long way over time. Just keep showing up and being decent, people eventually catch on.

Yeah, "respect isn't automatic" is spot on @claire_wells87. My neighbor's been driving the same old pickup for 30 years and people still cut him off like he's invisible.
