The ISP rep who told me to stop chasing speed tiers, he was right
Our office in Austin kept paying for gigabit fiber but pages still crawled sometimes. I spent 3 months blaming our router, our switches, everything. Then a rep from our provider said "you're never going to use that bandwidth, your bottleneck is your DNS setup." He switched us to a public DNS and pointed out our old firewall was doing deep packet inspection on everything. After turning that off for internal traffic, our load times dropped from 4 seconds to under 1. I felt stupid for throwing money at speed when the real fix was free. Has anyone else found that their "premium" connection was being held back by their own gear? What settings did you change?
