Pro tip: I blamed our ISP for slow uploads for 2 years until a tech showed me our own switch
We run a small print shop in Boise and our file uploads kept timing out around 4pm every day. I called our provider maybe 6 times and finally a tech named Devon came out and asked to see our wiring closet. Turns out our $180 unmanaged switch was drowning under all the traffic and the router was fine the whole time. Now I'm stuck on a real debate: do small businesses actually need a managed switch with QoS, or is that just something salespeople push on us? What setup are you all running for a shop with about 12 devices?
