My ISP rep pushed fiber on me for 20 minutes and I signed with cable anyway
Two weeks ago at my shop in Boise I had a fiber sales guy in my office telling me I needed 1 gig symmetrical, and when I asked what happens if the line goes down he said "it basically never does" which is not an answer. I went with the cable co instead at 300 down because they offered a 4 hour repair window in writing and gave me a backup LTE puck for $15 a month. Is anyone else finding that the smaller upload speed is worth it for actual service terms you can hold someone to?
Read a piece last month about how small businesses are ditching the speed race for written repair terms instead. Getting a 4 hour window and a backup puck in writing beats a maybe on speed any day.
