Wasted $60 on a fancy leather cover that added zero function

I wanted my bullet journal to look pretty so I bought this expensive bonded leather cover for $60 off Etsy. Thing is, it added so much bulk I can't even fit the notebook in my bag anymore, and the elastic band ripped after two months. Anyone else fall for the 'aesthetic upgrade' trap and just use a plain notebook now?

Ugh that is so frustrating when something looks good but ends up being a pain! I switched to just using a simple kraft paper cover I made myself, cost me like two bucks and it's way lighter in my bag. Sometimes pretty just isn't worth the hassle.

Tbh my buddy dropped like 80 bucks on one of those fancy leather covers and it fell apart in three months. He just uses a basic Moleskine now and calls it a day.

Man that's rough, especially for 80 bucks. I've seen those fancy covers at the shop, they look nice on the shelf but the stitching always seems sketchy. My own leather journal cover from a flea market is still holding up after two years, guess it's a gamble with those things. Sucks when you pay that much and it doesn't last.
