Wasted $60 on a fancy dotted notebook that bleeds like crazy

Bought this expensive dotted notebook from a small stationery shop in Portland last month because the paper felt so thick. First time I used my favorite gel pen, it bled straight through to the next page and ruined my whole weekly spread. I tried 3 different pens and a fineliner, same result every time. My $8 basic notebook from Target never does this, so lesson learned about trusting the feel test. Anyone else got burned by a pretty notebook that didn't hold up to real use?
