Overheard a librarian say she uses a ruler to align her weekly spreads
I was at my local library in Raleigh and heard the head librarian mention she uses a ruler every single time she draws her weekly layout. I always just eyeballed it, but after trying it for a week, my spreads look way cleaner and I'm not rushing to fix crooked lines. Has anyone else picked up a random tip from someone outside the community?

Wait wouldn't using a ruler take way longer though? I feel like the slight imperfections from eyeballing it give the spread some personality.

Nah you get faster at it honestly. After the first few times your hand just knows the spacing. I started doing it with my weekly spreads and now a ruler feels like a waste of time. The key is going slow at first. Mess up a few times and learn from it. Once you figure out the right pressure it becomes muscle memory. Saves me from those crooked layouts that bug me all week.
