My newbie bujo crew keeps skipping the monthly migration step

I noticed my three apprentices all had messy weekly logs with tasks from March still hanging around in late April, so I asked them to show me their process. Turns out they were just adding new daily logs without ever reviewing and moving old stuff forward, which totally defeats the point of the rapid logging system for me. How do you guys make sure you actually do your monthly migration without it feeling like a chore?

Maybe the monthly migration is the part that actually makes it a chore though. The whole rapid logging thing is supposed to be fast and low pressure, and adding a mandatory review step every thirty days kills that vibe. If the old tasks are still in the book, they can still see them and decide if they matter, so maybe the system is still working just in a different way. Forcing a formal move might just make people drop the habit entirely.

Yeah the "mandatory review step" is exactly what killed it for me too. I started dreading the end of the month because it felt like homework. Now I just let old tasks sit there and it works way better.
