My mom swore I was overcomplicating my weekly spreads

She said just write down 3 things I need to do and leave it at that. Tried it for 2 weeks and my productivity actually went up lol. Anyone else find that simpler layouts work better for them?

Hold up, I gotta push back here. In my experience, when I keep it too simple I end up forgetting half the stuff I actually needed to get done that week. A basic list of three things might sound good but it leaves out all the smaller steps that actually matter to me. Your mileage may vary but I find a more detailed breakdown keeps me on track way better than just a handful of items.

My roommate actually tried this whole "three thing" method last semester and it went so wrong so fast. She wrote down "study for bio exam" and then completely forgot she needed to make flashcards, email the TA for a study guide, and practice the diagrams until like 2 days before the test. I mean, I get why people like the simple thing for some stuff, but for me, if I don't write down the tiny steps I will absolutely forget them. Like last week I had "call dentist" on my list and that was fine but anything bigger than that and I need the whole messy breakdown or my brain just drops everything.

That three thing method works great until you run into something like "study for bio exam" and boom, you're sunk. I feel you on needing the tiny steps written out or your brain just nopes out completely.
