My dad tried to add his own tasks to my bullet journal.
I leave my bullet journal on the coffee table when I'm working. Yesterday, my dad saw it and wrote 'call plumber' in my weekly spread. Now his note is mixed with my own tasks and appointments. It messed up my planning because I use a specific system for my stuff. I don't want to just cross it out and hurt his feelings. How do you handle when family members write in your journal without asking? Should I set a rule or just keep it out of sight from now on?

My coffee table is basically a danger zone for my planner now. What worked for me was putting a skinny roll of washi tape in the front pocket. When my mom added her grocery list, I just put a strip of tape down the margin next to her items (it peels off easy later). It visually separates their stuff from your system without being a harsh cross-out. You could even keep the journal open to your current week, so it's not hidden, but the tape acts like a polite 'this area is for notes' border.

What if tape highlighted important tasks too?

I read somewhere that different tape colors can mark urgency too.
